The title of this post is a reference to the book by Tim O'Brien. The book is about a man who is in conflict with himself. The picture above was taken as I did one last run through my carry-on bags before my younger brother drove me to the airport. The picture certainly does reveal some of the things I will take with me; books, toiletries, gifts, my passport. But, I carry so much more than just these material belongings. There are the memories, emotions, feelings, burdens, thoughts, dreams, fears, and other unmeasurable and immaterial "items" that do not fit within those two bags.
Some of the basics; I have my M.Ed. and work education. I am a music lover, beat junkie, and DJ. I have deep respect my family, friends, and honor those who have come before me. I enjoy food, travel, music, and observing the world around me. I am a deep believer in Buddhist philosophy. Yet, I am still very uncomfortable in my own skin. I am just another human being like anyone else.
